Selected Juror Information

JURY COMMISSION is responsible for:

mailing questionnaires for jurors
selecting panels for jury terms
mailing summonses
calls for excuses or deferments
submitting vouchers for payment to jurors
monitoring the judges' needs for jurors and making sure that enough jurors are available

How jurors are selected?

Each year the Secretary of State provides the names of all people who have valid driver's licenses or State identification cards.  These names are loaded into a computer program provided by the Supreme Court.  The names are picked randomly by the computer, using a method devised by law.
