The mission of the Livingston County 911 Central Dispatch / Emergency Management is to assist in the safety and quality of life of the people in Livingston County by coordinating a comprehensive all-hazard emergency operational plan, and by providing professional, effective, efficient, telecommunication response to calls by citizens and dispatching the appropriate public safety responders.

9-1-1 an emergency telephone number that provides immediate access to law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services.
9-1-1 is a nationally recognized system, approximately 96% of the U.S. have some form of 9-1-1 available and online.
9-1-1 is currently in operation within 82 counties of Michigan.
9-1-1 is easy to learn and can be taught to young children.
9-1-1 is a proven lifesaver.
9-1-1 is efficient and cost effective because your call is routed to one consolidated dispatch center and answered by well-trained professional dispatchers who directly dispatch all emergency services within Livingston County.

Demand for Service - Public safety agencies are busy. The fastest fire, ambulance and police protection are available to you if these services can be successfully dispatched.

"The current Livingston County 9-1-1 Central Dispatch provides dispatch services for 9 law enforcement agencies, 11 fire departments, and emergency medical services."

According to the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), Livingston County still leads the growth within the southeastern region of Michigan. Their long-range forecast shows the county's population climbing to over 239,000 residents by the year 2020. The estimated population is 160,000.
