Department of Public Works

The purpose of the Livingston County Department of Public Works (DPW) is to construct and operate such facilities as water, sewer and refuse systems, lake improvements and erosion control systems. It operates under the authority of Act 185 of 1957 and a Resolution of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners adopted on April 17, 1969. A nine-member Board of Public Works (BPW) governs the DPW. It is administered through the Office of the Livingston County Drain Commissioner, and the Drain Commissioner serves as its director.

The BPW meets on the first Thursday of each month from 8:00 to 10:00 am at the Livingston County East Complex, 2300 East Grand River in Howell to discuss future and on-going projects. For copies of meeting agendas or minutes, click on the links below.
