What is the Juvenile Mentoring Program? -
The Livingston County Juvenile Mentoring Program is a one-on-one mentoring program designed to match referred juveniles with adult volunteer mentors.  This program is run by the Livingston County Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The Juvenile Mentoring Program is associated with 2000 for 2000: Michigan's Mentoring Initiative, a program designed to encourage adults to volunteer as mentors for children at risk.

What is the Juvenile Mentoring Program's Mission? - The Juvenile Mentoring Program is dedicated to reducing juvenile crime by providing positive mentoring relationships for at risk juveniles.

Who is Eligible to Participate in the Program? - Youth living in the Livingston County area.
Youth 7 to 17 years old. Youth who are considered "at risk" due to environmental factors.

What Do You Need to Become a Mentor? - Mentors must be 21 years of age or older.
Mentors must have the desire to make a positive difference in the life of a young person.
Mentors must commit to working with youth for one year.
Mentors agree to meet with their youth two or more hours each week.
Mentors must have their own properly insured transportation.
Mentors cannot have a criminal record, or pending misdemeanor or felony charges.
