The office of the Livingston County Drain Commissioner employs a Drain Maintenance crew, and owns a variety of equipment for drain related construction activities. Additional equipment is rented by us on an as needed basis.
Petitioned Projects these projects require the request of a local unit of government or the signatures of landowners to begin. Petitioned Projects may involve, the use of an engineer to draw construction plans, acquisition of easements, public hearings, and or the use of contractors
The Drain Commission also maintains the approximately 400 drains under his jurisdiction in Livingston County. Let us know fast if you experience flooding from a county drain. The State of Michigan requires that all landowners follow these new reporting requirements for any sewer back-up claims. An individual who has been injured or has suffered property damage as a result of a county storm drain system must provide written notice of the event within 45 days after the date the damage or injury was discovered. Written notice must include the following:
