For the first time in its 30-year history, EMS responded to more than 10,000 calls in a single year in 2002. They surpassed 1,000 calls per month in July 2002.

During the recent power outage, EMS responded to 150 calls from Thursday through Saturday. It recorded its busiest 24-hour period ever with 60 calls beginning at midnight.

Normally, EMS averages 30 calls per day that are prioritized either as emergency, potential emergency, non-emergency and transportation of patients to hospitals in Howell, Ann Arbor, Flint and Lansing.
