Food and Nutrition

MSUE - Livingston County provides resources, information and education on current food and health issues.

We offer educational programs on a variety of food issues such as the Food Guide Pyramid, Healthy Food Choices and on other current food topics.

We offer Serv-Safe training for food handlers.

Family Nutrition Program - The Family Nutrition Program provides food and nutrition education to anyone eligible for, or receiving food stamp benefits.

The program includes education in areas such as:
  •  Smart shopping - helping stretch your food dollars.
  •  Food safety - both in the kitchen and traveling.
  •  Hands on food preparation.
  •  Healthy snack ideas
  •  Meal planning.

There is no referral necessary.

For information on additional food supplemental county programs, please contact Livingston County Health Department - WIC or Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA).
