![]() Lutz Park is located at 3415 E. Cohoctah Rd, Howell MI (between Lutz and N. Latson Roads) which includes a number of different land uses and structures, including: a Christmas tree farm; fallow and active agricultural land; pasture; woodlands; wetlands; two single-family rental homes; and a farmstead that contains a primary residence, silo, garage, two barns, and miscellaneous outbuildings. There are approximately 13 acres (per the National Wetlands Inventory) of wetlands on the site. In addition, the park buffers an adjacent large wetland system (200+ acres) associated with the Shiawassee River immediately to the west. This land area is owned by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and is part of the Oak Grove State Game Area. A portion of the county park is currently being improved with the following facilities: a parking lot with a trail head display case complete with information about the park; over 7,000 linear feet of groomed trails that were laid out by Mr. Lutz prior to his death; interpretative signs that explain the flora and fauna in the park; picnic tables and park benches that are placed along the trails. |
