On December 20, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Michael Lesley Ramsey guilty of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury, Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, and Failing to Stop at the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Injury for an incident on June 3, 2005 on US-23 in Tyrone Township. Ramsey faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced by the Hon. David J. Reader on January 26, 2006. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On December 15, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction of Daniel Joseph Binsfeld for Third Degree Fleeing and Eluding and Fourth Habitual Offender. In a case tried by Jim Metz before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in June of 2004, Binsfeld was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve three to ten years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On December 15, 2005, a District Court jury found Nathan Scott Gray guilty of Domestic Violence for an incident in Unadilla Township on November 3, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On December 14, 2005, Helen Marie Pendleton was found guilty of Attempt to Obtain a Controlled Substance by Fraud after a bench trial for an incident on December 8, 2004 in Hartland Township. Pendleton faces a maximum sentence of eight years in prison as a Third Habitual Offender when she is sentenced by the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille on January 30, 2006. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On November 22, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction of William Wesley Devine for Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. In a case tried by Pam Maas before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in April of 2004, Devine was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve five to thirty years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On November 22, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction of Steven Charles Oliver for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor - Third Offense. In a case tried by Bill McCririe before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in December of 2003, Oliver was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve eighteen months to five years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On November 22, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the adjudication of Joseph Patrick Rupp for Gross Indecency. In a case tried by Miriam Cavanaugh in December of 2003, Rupp was found responsible after a bench trial. The appeal was prosecuted by Miriam Cavanaugh.
On November 15, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Ursuia Lesean White guilty of Uttering and Publishing for an incident on July 1, 2005 in Green Oak Township. White faces a maximum sentence of 28 years in prison when she is sentenced as a Third Habitual Offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on January 5, 2006. The case was prosecuted by Bill McCririe.
On October 28, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Damian Jacob Phillips guilty of Negligent Homicide for an incident on July 20, 2004 in Green Oak Township. Phillips faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison when he is sentenced by the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille on November 28, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On October 28, 2005, a District Court jury found Anthony Joseph Wisniewski guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Green Oak Township on August 4, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On October 27, 2005, a District Court jury found Wayne Bennett Hollins guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Genoa Township on November 19, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On October 13, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Decondia Rashawn Mixon guilty of Carrying a Concealed Weapon for an incident on June 15, 2004 in Genoa Township. Mixon faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison when he is sentenced by the Hon. David J. Reader on November 10, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On October 6, 2005, a District Court jury found David Joseph McMillan guilty of Reckless Driving for an incident in Brighton Township on March 7, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On October 6, 2005, a District Court jury found Jani Ann Krug guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Oceola Township on July 23, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On October 5, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found John Richard Tyler guilty of three counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for incidents in 2001 and 2002 in Tyrone Township. Tyler faces a maximum sentence of fifteen years in prison when he is sentenced by the Hon. David J. Reader on November 10, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On October 5, 2005, a District Court jury found Gary Lee Moore guilty of Indecent Exposure for an incident in Genoa Township on September 16, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On September 30, 2005, a District Court jury found Robert Paul Hagen guilty of Domestic Violence for an incident in Genoa Township on May 23, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On September 22, 2005, a District Court jury found Marc Senters guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Genoa Township on May 26, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On September 22, 2005, a District Court jury found Lluke Patrick Pressel guilty of Operating While Impaired for an incident in Oceola Township on July 11, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On August 25, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the conviction of Loren James Tompkins, Jr. for First Degree Retail Fraud and Third Habitual Offender. In a case tried by Bill McCririe before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in September of 2003, Tompkins was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve twenty-seven months to ten years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On August 24, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Stephen Allen LaCosse, II guilty of First Degree Home Invasion for an incident in Fowlerville on November 16, 2004. LaCosse faces a maximum sentence of forty years in prison as a Third Habitual Offender when he is sentenced by the Hon. David J. Reader on September 22, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On August 4, 2005, a District Court jury found Mark Vincent LaRosa guilty of Reckless Driving for an incident in Green Oak Township on February 13, 2005. The case was prosecuted by prosecutor intern Bryan Beach.
On August 2, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found James Vincent Harper, Jr. guilty of Unarmed Robbery for an incident on November 10, 2004 in Genoa Township. Harper was sentenced to serve 15 to 40 years in prison as a Fourth Habitual Offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on August 25, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On August 2, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the convictions of Brian Michael Marsland for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor - Third Offense, Operating Without Insurance, and Second Habitual Offender. In a case tried by Shawn Ryan before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in October and November of 2003, Marsland was convicted after a bench trial and sentenced to serve three years of probation with twelve months in jail. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On July 28, 2005, a District Court jury found Derrek Duane Brockway guilty of two counts of Second Degree Retail Fraud for an incident in Genoa Township on December 21, 2004. The case was prosecuted by prosecutor intern Bryan Beach.
On July 28, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Donald Anthony Allen guilty of Extortion and Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Deliver for an incident on June 18, 2004 in Brighton Township. Allen was sentenced to serve 5 to 40 years in prison as a Second Drug Offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on August 25, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On July 18, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Jason Ryan Norton guilty of Perjury in a Court Proceeding for giving false testimony during a District Court bench trial on October 12, 2004 in the 53rd District Court in Howell. Norton was sentenced to serve 38 months to 15 years in prison by the Hon. David J. Reader on August 18, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On July 7, 2005, a District Court jury found Heather Marie Deaton guilty of Second Degree Retail Fraud for an incident in Brighton on December 11, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On July 6, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Richard John Falcon guilty of two counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for an incident between April and June of 2003 in the City of Howell. Falcon was sentenced to serve 107 months to 22-1/2 years in prison as a Second Habitual Offender by the Hon. Daniel A. Burress on August 17, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On June 29, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Gary Steven Uphaus guilty of Delivery of Marijuana, Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana, and four counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony for incidents in Putnam Township on January 24-25, 2005. Uphaus faces a maximum sentence of ten years in prison as a Second Drug Offender when he is sentenced by the Hon. David J. Reader on August 18, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On June 23, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the convictions of Craig Michael Haskell for four counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, one count of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, and one count of Aggravated Domestic Violence. In a case tried by Pam Maas before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in August of 2003, Haskell was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve 12 to 30 years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On June 23, 2005, a District Court jury found John Charles Cova guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Hartland Township on March 22, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On June 13, 2005, Ronald Ray Creager, II was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana after a bench trial for an incident on August 31, 2004 in Genoa Township. Facing a maximum sentence of two years in prison as a second drug offender, Creager was sentenced to serve three days in jail by the Hon. David J. Reader on July 20, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On June 10, 2005, a District Court jury found Jack Harold King, Jr. guilty of Operating While Intoxicated - Second Offense for an incident in Howell on April 3, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On June 7, 2005, a District Court jury found Christopher Michael Charrette guilty of Operating While Intoxicated for an incident in Handy Township on March 21, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On May 26, 2005, a District Court jury found Thomas Matthew Harris guilty of Operating While Intoxicated - Second Offense for an incident in Brighton on March 10, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On May 18, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Andrew Neil Dobek guilty of five counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, three counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, and two counts of Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration for incidents in late 1995 in the City of Howell. Dobek was sentenced to serve 25 to 40 years in prison by the Hon. David J. Reader on July 21, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On May 5, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the convictions of Gary James Flannigan, Jr. for Bank Robbery and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. In a case tried by Pam Maas before the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille in September of 2003, Flannigan was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve 19 to 30 years in prison for the bank robbery plus two years for the felony firearm conviction. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On April 27, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Tyree Samuel Jones guilty of Possession with Intent to Deliver 50-450 Grams of a Controlled Substance, Delivery of a Controlled Substance Less than 50 Grams, Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance Less than 50 Grams, Distribution of an Imitation Controlled Substance, and Conspiracy to Distribute an Imitation Controlled Substance for incidents in Brighton Township from March 24 through May 2, 2003. Jones was sentenced to serve a term of 51 months to 40 years in prison as a second drug offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on July 14, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On April 21, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the convictions of Ryan Kendrick Nichols for Kidnapping, Assault With Intent to Cause Great Bodily Harm, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. In a case tried by Suzanne Geddis before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in August of 2003, Nichols was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve 17 to 40 years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On April 20, 2005, Patrick Michael Carlson was found guilty of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer after a bench trial for an incident in Pinckney on September 18, 2004. Facing a maximum sentence of two years in prison, Carlson was sentenced to pay fines and costs by the Hon. David J. Reader on May 19, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On April 19, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Marilynn Perri-Clair guilty of Fourth Degree Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated - Second Offense, and Transporting Open Alcohol in a Vehicle for an incident in Pinckney on October 26, 2003. Perri-Clair was sentenced to serve 18 months on probation with the first 21 days in the Livingston County Jail by the Hon. David J. Reader on April 28, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On April 12, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Andrew Tyrone Bell guilty of Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm for an incident in Putnam Township on July 12, 2004. Bell was sentenced to serve 20 years to 30 years in prison plus two years for the felony firearm conviction by the Hon. David J. Reader on May 19, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On March 29, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Thomas Joseph Wedge guilty of two counts of Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer for an incident in Hamburg Township on November 1, 2004. Wedge was sentenced to serve 18 months on probation with the first 10 days in the Livingston County Jail by the Hon. David J. Reader on May 5, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On March 22, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found David Michael Magel guilty of Larceny By Conversion Over $1,000/Less Than $20,000 for an incident in Green Oak Township on July 15, 2004. Magel was sentenced to serve 3 years to 10 years in prison by the Hon. David J. Reader on April 28, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On March 15, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Myron David Watkins guilty of four counts of First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and four counts of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for incidents from 1998 through 2004 in Conway Township. Watkins was sentenced to serve 18 years to 40 years in prison by the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille on May 20, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On March 4, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Cedric E. Baiz guilty of Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for an incident on February 21, 2004 in Genoa Township. Baiz was sentenced to serve 18 months to 15 years in prison by the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille on April 19, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Pam Maas.
On March 2, 2005, a District Court jury found Derrick Scott Ritenour guilty of Operating While Impaired - Second Offense for an incident in Brighton Township on November 7, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Angela DelVero.
On February 24, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Allan Boyde Sandlin guilty of Conspiracy to Deliver A Controlled Substance Under 50 Grams for an incident on February 19, 2004. Sandlin was sentenced to serve 2 to 40 years in prison as a Second Offender by the Hon. Stanley J. Latreille on April 1, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Bill McCririe.
On February 22, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found Tammy Ann Sauro guilty of Embezzlement from a Vulnerable Adult Over $1,000/Less Than $20,000 for incidents in Fowlerville in July of 2004. Sauro was sentenced to serve 6 to 20 years in prison as a Fourth Habitual Offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on April 7, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On February 10, 2005, a District Court jury found Michael Joseph Cook guilty of Assault and Battery for an incident in Hartland Township on October 4, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On February 8, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals issued an opinion in an appeal filed by the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office in the case of the People v Patrick Jay Conely. The Court of Appeals reversed an order from the Livingston County Circuit Court setting aside Conely’s 2002 convictions in District Court for violating the Solid Waste Management Act. The Court of Appeals opinion remanded the case to Circuit Court for reinstatement of the convictions. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On February 3, 2005, a District Court jury found Gregory Paul Baylerian guilty of Violation of License Restrictions for an incident in Brighton on September 13, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Shawn Ryan.
On February 1, 2005, a District Court jury found Eric Andres Anderson guilty of Operating While Intoxicated - Child Endangerment and Possession of a Forged Prescription for an incident in Howell on November 3, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On February 1, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals affirmed the convictions of Sanford Bryce Chandler for Arson of a Dwelling House, Conspiracy to Commit Arson of a Dwelling House, Burning Insured Property, Solicitation to Commit Arson of a Dwelling House, and Witness Intimidation. In a case tried by Suzanne Geddis before the Hon. Daniel A. Burress in June of 2003, Chandler was convicted by a jury and sentenced to serve 6 to 10 years in prison. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On January 25, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found William Robert Fraley and Christopher Patrick Snow guilty of First Degree Home Invasion for an incident in Iosco Township on August 24, 2004. Snow was sentenced to serve 15 years and 8 months to 40 years in prison as a Fourth Habitual Offender and Fraley was sentenced to serve 12 years and 8 months to 40 years in prison as a Third Habitual Offender by the Hon. David J. Reader on March 3, 2005. The case was prosecuted by Jim Metz.
On January 20, 2005, the Michigan Court of Appeals issued an opinion in an appeal filed by the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office in the case of the People v Monica Ann Jahner. The Court of Appeals reversed an order from the Livingston County Circuit Court setting aside Jahner’s 1982 conviction for Conspiracy to Commit Murder arising out of a 1977 attack on Jahner’s stepmother in Howell. The Court of Appeals opinion remanded the case to Circuit Court for reinstatement of the conviction. Jahner is serving a life sentence. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt.
On January 19, 2005, a Circuit Court jury found James Lawrence Baptist guilty of Assault and Battery for an incident on March 21, 2004 in Putnam Township. During trial, the Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office filed an emergency appeal with the Michigan Court of Appeals. On January 14, 2005, the Court of Appeals entered an order peremptorily reversing the Circuit Court and ordering that certain evidence be admitted during the trial. The appeal was prosecuted by Bill Vailliencourt. The case was tried by Shawn Ryan.
On January 14, 2005, a District Court jury found Randal Wayne Crippen guilty of Aggravated Assault for an incident in Tyrone Township on February 22, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
On January 6, 2005, a District Court jury found Jennifer Christa Miles guilty of Operating While Intoxicated - Second Offense for an incident in Pinckney on September 23, 2004. The case was prosecuted by Dan Rose.
