GLENNA HATH

of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1224 Ladies Auxiliary, Hamburg

Glenna Hath grew up and went to school in Fowlerville where her family has a long business tradition, with her grandfather owning Woods Drug Store at the main four corners from 1922 to 1969.  She graduated from Howell Beauty College, and has operated her own Glenna’s Beauty Shop for over thirty years.  She is the daughter of Glendon Plummer who served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II.  Her husband Chuck Hath served in the Army in Germany during the Vietnam era. Glenna has raised a daughter, Charlotte Wendell, with her granddaughter Lora Hoch, and has stepchildren Charles Hath, Jim Hath, and Joseph Hath, and also a step-grandchild Jordan Hath. Glenna joined the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in 1994, and became active at the VFW Post 6464 in Fowlerville. 

She was the Auxiliary president there for two years in 2002 and 2003, and served in many other capacities, including as the Auxiliary buddy-poppy committee chair, bingo committee chair, and cancer committee chair.  She worked on the September 11, 2001 remembrance committee, the committee to establish the veterans’ monument at Fowlerville Community Park, and each year she works on the Fowlerville 4^th of July fireworks committee.
In 2004 Glenna transferred to the VFW Post 1224 Ladies Auxiliary in Hamburg, and continued her service there as the chair of the Auxiliary buddy-poppy committee, cancer committee, and the committee to support veterans at VA hospitals.  She regularly works at the Post’s Friday fish fry’s and Sunday breakfasts for the public. Glenna serves on the Livingston County Veterans Council in their meetings and ceremonies honoring veterans, and is in her second year term as Council chaplain.  This year she is also serving as the chaplain for the VFW 6^th District of Michigan Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time Glenna likes to work on the computer putting together creative photo composites, and she likes to spend time with her grandchildren. For all of her service to veterans, community and country the Livingston County Veterans Council, comprised of the 24 veterans and auxiliary organizations in the county, has elected Glenna Hath to be the Livingston County Veterans Auxiliary Member of the Year 2006.
