County Assistance for Deaths and Burials

The County Veterans Affairs office provides assistance to families upon the death of a veteran. Claims are filed for VA survivors benefits, life insurance, grave markers, and VA and County burial allowances. 

Military Honor Guards

A military honor guard for veterans funerals and burials is provided by the veteran's branch of military service, if requested by the family through the funeral home.  Veterans service organization posts in the county may also be able to provide or assist in such an honor guard when arranged through the funeral home.
